Cohen & Cohan is a six-part television series which follows the story of Manny Cohen, Jewish, and Danny Cohan, Irish, (‘I’m Cohan with an ‘A’…I’m Cohen with and ‘E’.’); a London based music hall act, at the turn of the century. Just as the firm friends are about to achieve stardom on the Halls, into their lives come twin whirlwinds: the arrival of moving pictures and Nettie, the entrepreneurial daughter of cinema pioneer Colonel Truman. When Manny's Uncle Max is killed in a racist attack, Manny, Danny and Nettie decide to stop making comedy capers and try using cinema to create something more meaningful. The series will be an energetic, uplifting, moving and musical exploration of early cinema's arrival in London during a period of growing xenophobia.

Cohen & Cohan is written by Neil Brand and Michael Eaton. It is an adaptation of their own Radio 4 drama Waves Breaking On A Shore, which broadcast in 2010 with a fine cast including Hayley Atwell, Andrew Scott, Simon Schatzberger and Jim Norton.  Neil and Michael are currently writing the first episode of the television series.
